چکیده

This study investigates the addition of ground tire rubber (GTR) into virgin polyamide 6 (PA6) to produce thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) blends. In particular, a wide range GTR concentration (0–100% wt.) was possible by using simple dry blending technique materials in powder form followed compression molding. The molded samples were characterized terms morphological (scanning electron microscopy), physical (density and hardness) mechanical (tension, flexion impact) properties. results showed decrease tensile flexural moduli strengths with due its elastomeric nature. However, significant increases observed on elongation at break (up 167%) impact strength 131%) compared neat PA6 matrix. Based obtained, an optimum content around 75% wt. which represents balance between high recycled sufficient amount matrix recover all particles. These represent first step showing that processing method can be used low cost PA6/GTR compounds

Thermoplastic Elastomers with Photo-actuating Properties

This contribution reviews elastomeric materials with photo-actuation behavior with emphasis on thermoplastic elastomers and their composites. The principles of the photo-actuation and the main factors affecting the photo-actuation phenomena of thermoplastic elastomer materials are discussed in detail. The well-performing photoactuating systems involving both statistical and block copolymers-bas...

Thermoplastic Polymer Shrinkage in Emerging Molding Processes

In this paper, in situ experiments have been designed using the full-field deformation technique of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to characterize non-uniform shrinkage in thermoplastic polymers commonly used in traditional and emerging molding processes. These experiments are capable of characterizing the differences in strains that develop due to thermal gradients and stiction as the polymer...

Simulation and modeling of macro and micro components produced by powder injection molding: A review

During the recent years powder processing technologies have gained much attention due to the less energy consumption and recyclable powders. Manufacturing of complicated parts by the conventional powder metallurgy (PM) method is hard due to the uniaxial pressure, which leads to the low design flexibility. In order to prevail these constraints, powder injection molding (PIM) process, which inclu...

Multiphase design of autonomic self-healing thermoplastic elastomers.

The development of polymers that can spontaneously repair themselves after mechanical damage would significantly improve the safety, lifetime, energy efficiency and environmental impact of man-made materials. Most approaches to self-healing materials require the input of external energy, healing agents, solvent or plasticizer. Despite intense research in this area, the synthesis of a stiff mate...
